Transmission, Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. However, important steps should be named here:
-- Check the needle bearing in the crankshaft. If it is damaged or has blue tarnish, it must be replaced. Refer to one of the following:
Gas engines, refer to CRANKSHAFT NEEDLE BEARINGS .
Diesel engines, refer to CRANKSHAFT NEEDLE BEARINGS .
-- If it is not damaged, lubricate lightly with high temperature grease -G 052 133 A2-.
-- Transmission pins (not splines) must also be lightly lubricated.
-- Make sure both alignment sleeves between the engine and the transmission fit correctly.
-- Make sure the intermediate plate fits correctly.
The engine and transmission must be brought together by hand until both flanges touch all around.
If this is not the case, it will not run correctly.
-- Adjust the transmission mount until the engine and transmission are aligned.
Pay attention to the selector lever cable when lifting the transmission. Guide the cable into the cable bracket as early as possible.
Do not grease the cable.
-- The selector lever cable lock washers -arrows- must be replaced.
-- Check the selector lever cable and adjust it, if necessary. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING .
-- Check the coolant level and fill, if necessary. Refer to one of the following:
Gas engines, refer to [For engine(s) CCTA, CBFA] DRAINING AND FILLING .
Diesel engines, refer to [For engine(s) CJAA] DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Check the transmission fluid level and fill, if necessary. Refer to TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL, CHECKING AND FILLING .
