HID Headlamp Control Module (J343)/(J344)

The left HID headlamp control module (J343) or right HID headlamp control module (J344) is not OBD-capable.

The figures show the replacement of the right HID headlamp control module.

The procedure for replacing the left HID headlamp control module is the same.

Removal

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

- Remove the headlamp. Refer to=> [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.

- Remove the three mounting bolts - arrows -.






- Remove the HID headlamp control module - 1 - straight upward from the headlamp housing while paying attention to the connected wires.

- Release and disconnect the harness connectors - arrows - and remove the HID headlamp control module - 1 -.






Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Make sure the seal fits correctly when installing the HID headlamp control module. It is destroyed by entry of water into headlamp.

- Tighten the 3 mounting bolts to the specification shown in => [ HID Headlamp and Cornering Lamp Overview ] HID Headlamp and Cornering Lamp Overview.

- Check headlamp for functions.

- Check the headlamp adjustment and correct it if necessary.
