Selector Mechanism Overview
- Selector Handle with Cover
- Do not remove the handle unnecessarily. For manual release, only the cover must be removed. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER, MANUAL RELEASE .
- Removing and installing. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE .
- Selector Mechanism with Selector Lever Cable
- With a integrated selector lever sensor system control module with the selector lever, Tiptronic switch, selector lever park position lock switch and selector lever solenoid.
- The selector lever cable can only be replaced together with the selector mechanism. Refer to one of the following:
SELECTOR MECHANISM AND CABLE, WITH SELECTOR MECHANISM HOUSING .
SELECTOR MECHANISM AND CABLE, WITHOUT SELECTOR MECHANISM HOUSING .
- Do not grease the selector lever cable.
- Removing and installing. Refer to one of the following:

SELECTOR MECHANISM AND CABLE, WITHOUT SELECTOR MECHANISM HOUSING .
- Checking. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .
- Adjusting. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .

- Selector Mechanism Housing
- Available only together with the selector mechanism.
- Transmission
- Bolt
- 20 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.
- Always replace.
- Quantity: 2
- For securing the cable bracket to the transmission.
- Lock Washer
- Always replace after removing.
- Lock Washer
- Always replace after removing.
- Installed position: The offset side faces forward, toward the front of the vehicle.NOTE:
The lock washer fits very tight on the cable bracket.
