Selector Lever Cable, Checking And Adjusting: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Short Description
The selector lever cable must be disconnected from the transmission in order to check it for ease of movement. Lay the disconnected end down so that it does not touch anything.
Then the selector lever is moved and the cable is installed again to the transmission.
Do not lubricate the cable connection.
Adjust the selector lever after that.
Always adjust the selector lever cable if:
- The selector lever cable was removed from the transmission.
- The engine and/or transmission were removed and installed.
- Parts of the engine and/or transmission mounts were removed and installed.
- The cable itself or the selector mechanism was removed and installed.
- The engine/transmission positions changed, for example, were installed free of tension.
