Engine, Installing
Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:
Note the following whenever working inside the engine compartment due to limited space:
- Route all lines and cables in their original locations.
- Ensure sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
-- Insert new centering sleeves for centering engine/transmission in cylinder block.
-- Engine the intermediate plate with the sealing flange and then slide it onto the alignment sleeves -arrows-.
-- Check the needle bearing in the crankshaft and replace if necessary, refer to CRANKSHAFT NEEDLE BEARING, REPLACING .
-- Subframe mount tightening specifications, refer to SUBFRAME MOUNT, ADJUSTING .
-- Adjust the selector mechanism/selector lever cable after installing, refer to DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION .
-- Make sure there is enough clearance for the subframe and radiator when installing the engine/transmission sub-assembly.
-- Adjust the subframe mount, refer to SUBFRAME MOUNT, ADJUSTING .
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
-- Check all Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memories and erase all DTC entries which may have occurred during the assembly.
-- Perform a road test.
-- Then perform vehicle system test and repair any occurring malfunctions.
Generate readiness code if DTC memory was erased, refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester "Guided Function"
