Towing Recognition Control Module J345

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Torque Wrench V.A.G 1783

The towing recognition control module is installed behind the left side trim in the luggage compartment.

Removing

-- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).

-- Remove the left side trim panel inside the luggage compartment. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Release and disconnect the harness connector -2-.

NOTE:

The number of harness connectors on the Towing Recognition Control Module can deviate from the illustration depending on vehicle equipment.

-- Remove the nuts -1- and the towing recognition control module -3- from the duo bolts in the side panel.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

After installing a new towing recognition control module, it must be coded. Refer to TOWING RECOGNITION CONTROL MODULE J345, CODING .
