Engine And Transmission Mount, Adjusting

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure 

NOTE:

It is not necessary to remove the air filter housing if only the engine mount needs to be adjusted.

-- Remove the air filter housing and bracket, if necessary, refer to OVERVIEW - AIR FILTER HOUSING .

CAUTION:

Do not place the bracket for engine 10-222 A/1 on the fender panels. They will get damaged.

-- Attach the Shackle 10-222 A/12 to the right lifting eye.

-- Install the Engine Support Bridge 10-222 A with the Bracket For Engine 10-222 A/1 as illustrated and support the engine in the installed position.

Adjusting the Engine Mount:

-- Remove the engine mount to engine mount bracket bolts -arrows-.

-- Replace the engine mount bolts -arrows- one after the other (if the was not already performed when the engine was installed) and tighten hand tight.

Align the engine mount: between the engine mount bracket -2- and right longitudinal member, there must be clearance of 10 mm -a-.

The casting edge on the engine mount bracket -2- must be parallel to the engine mount support arm -1- ; dimension -x- must be the same at the front and the rear.

-- Tighten the bolts for the engine mount. Tightening specifications, refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNT OVERVIEW .

Adjusting the Transmission Mount:

-- Replace the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts -arrows- one after the other (if this was not already performed when the engine was installed) and tighten them hand tight.

-- The edges on the transmission mount support arm -1- and the transmission mount -2- are parallel on the transmission side.

-- Tighten the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts. Tightening specifications, refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNT OVERVIEW .

Further installation is in the reverse order of removal.
