Comfort System Central Control Module -J393-

Should the Comfort System Central Control Module -J393- require replacement, always read the coding stored in the control module by performing On Board Diagnostic (OBD) program function "Comfort System Central Control Module, replacing/coding", refer to Comfort System Central Control Module -J393-, REPLACING OR CODING .
After replacing Comfort System Central Control Module -J393-, other functions of Comfort System Central Control Module such as "Anti-Theft Immobilizer", "Anti-Theft Alarm System", "Access And Start Authorization", "Tire Pressure Monitoring" and central locking system key must also be adapted, depending on vehicle equipment.
In this case, start by adapting the anti-theft immobilizer (refer to Anti-Theft Immobilizer Control Module -J362-, ADAPTING ) and then, proceed to the other equipment-dependent functions of Comfort System Central Control Module -J393- in any order.
Removing:
-- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).
-- Remove the glove compartment, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
-- Remove both nuts -1- and the Comfort System Central Control Module -J393- with the bracket -2- from the fastener threads. Be careful of the connected wires.
The openings on the connected and bracket must align exactly to release and disconnect the connector.
-- Release the retaining tab -3- and slide the Comfort System Central Control Module -J393- in the bracket in the direction of the -arrow- until the openings on the connector -1- align with the openings -2- in the bracket.
-- Disconnect the connector from the Comfort System Central Control Module -J393-.
The number of electrical connections depends on vehicle equipment level and market version.
All connectors are only to be connected in one location and must therefore not be marked.
-- Open the four side retainers -arrows- and remove the cover -1-.
-- Remove the Comfort System Central Control Module -J393- -2- from the bracket.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
The connector can only be connected and locked when the openings on it -1- and on the bracket -2- align exactly.
-- Tighten the nuts to 4.5 Nm.
