Checking Wiring

-- Turn the ignition switch ON.

-- Connect a multimeter to terminals 1 and 2 of the Outside Air Temperature Sensor -G17- electrical harness connector.

Specified value: near 5.02 V

-- Turn the ignition switch OFF.

If the specified value was Not obtained:

-- Remove the Instrument Cluster. Refer to the Repair Information.

-- Disconnect the Instrument Cluster harness.

-- Using a multimeter, check the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor -G17- electrical harness connector terminals 1 and 2 to the Instrument Cluster electrical harness connector for an open circuit or a short, refer to the wiring diagram. Refer to appropriate Wiring Diagrams for pin locations.

Specified value: 1.5 Ω max.

If the specified value was Not obtained:

-- Check the wiring for an open, high resistance or short circuit to Battery (+) or ground.

-- Check the electrical harness connector for damage, corrosion, loose or broken terminals.

-- If necessary, repair the faulty wiring connection.

If the specified value was obtained:

Replace the Instrument Cluster. Refer to the Repair Information.
