Shift Mechanism, Adjusting: Notes
Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Connecting Pin T10027 A
Adjusting Requirements:
- Operating and transfer elements of shift mechanism must be in proper condition.
- Shift mechanism must move freely.
- The transmission, clutch and clutch mechanism must also be in proper condition.
- Transmission is in neutral.
Perform The Following
-- Remove the air filter housing, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
-- Pull the locking mechanism on the cable retainers for the shift and selector cables all the way forward in the -direction of arrow 1- and then lock it to the left in the -direction of arrow 2- .
- The cables must slide in the cable retainers.
- Transmission is in neutral.
Secure the gear shift shaft as follows:
-- Push the gear shift shaft down in the -direction of arrow 1- .
-- While pressing the gear shift shaft down, rotate the locking pin -A- in the -direction of arrow 2- upward and simultaneously press it in until it engages in the gear shift shaft.
-- Unclip the boot -B- and frame from the center console using the trim removal wedge 3409.
-- Fold the boot and frame upward over the shift knob -A- .
-- Pull the noise insulation -1- , if equipped, slightly upward so that the connecting pin T10027 A can be inserted, refer to Insert the connecting pin T10027 A through hole -A- and into hole -B- .
Secure the shift lever as follows
-- Move the shift lever into neutral.
