Selector Mechanism With Lever

Removing 

-- Remove the center console. Refer to.

Passat, Passat CC and CC, refer to "Storage Compartments, Covers and Trim" in Removal and Installation .

Tiguan, refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to one of the following:

Passat, refer to "One Piece Intake Manifold" or "Two Piece Intake Manifold" in Description and Operation .

Passat CC and CC, refer to Description and Operation .

Tiguan, refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Remove the selector cable from transmission. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE .

-- Remove the exhaust system components underneath the heat shield. Refer to Description and Operation .

with All Wheel Drive (AWD) 

-- Remove the driveshaft. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Continuation for All 

-- Remove the heat shield from under the vehicle.

-- Remove the 4 nuts for the selector mechanism from above.

-- Remove the selector mechanism.

Installing 

-- Install in the reverse of removal, note the following:

Tightening specification for the nuts: 8 Nm 

-- After installing, check the cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING .
