- Transmission Control Module -J217-
- The control module sends and receives data from the Data bus.
- Installed location for the Jetta MY 05 through 10. Refer to Fig 2.
- Installed location on the Jetta, from MY 2011, with a 2.0L Engine. Refer to Fig 3.
- Installed location on the Jetta, from MY 2011, with a 2.5L Engine. Refer to Fig 4.
- Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester.
- Engine Control Module
- The control module sends and receives data from the Data bus.

- Multifunction Transmission Range Switch -F125-
- Component location, refer to Fig 5.
- Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester.

- Valve Body
- Component location, refer to Fig 6.
- The components can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester.

- Installed location: The shift lock solenoid is located in the selector mechanism.
- Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester.
- Tiptronic Switch -F189-
- Component location, refer to Fig 11.
- Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester.
- Terminal 50 Power Supply Relay -J682-
- Inside the engine compartment E-box.
- Diagnostic Connection
- Component location, refer to Fig 12.
- Transmission Range Display -Y6-
- Component location, refer to Fig 13.
- Removing and installing, refer to Removal and Installation .
Installed location: The control module -arrow- is located in the left front wheel housing.
-- The wheel housing liner must be removed for removal and installation.
Installed location: The control module -A- is located inside the plenum chamber on the right side.
-- The plenum chamber cover must be moved. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER .
Installed location: The control module -A- is located inside the engine compartment in the left front side next to the battery.
Installed location: The multifunction switch is located on the upper side of transmission.
Installed location: The valve body is bolted to the underside of the transmission housing and is covered by transmission fluid pan.
The solenoid valve 1 -N88- , solenoid valve 2 -N89- , solenoid valve 3 -N90- , solenoid valve 4 -N91- , solenoid valve 5 -N92- , solenoid valve 6 -N93- , solenoid valve 9 -N282- and solenoid valve 10 -N283- are attached to the valve body.
- 8 pin wiring harness
- With a integrated transmission fluid temperature sensor -arrow-
Installed location: The wiring harness is secured to the valve body in the transmission.
- 14 pin wiring harness
Installed location: The wiring harness is secured to the valve body in the transmission.
These sensor are not installed in all transmissions.
Installed location:
Automatic transmission hydraulic pressure sensor 1 ( -1- ) and automatic transmission hydraulic pressure sensor 2 ( -2- ) are inside the valve body.
Installed location: inside the transmission housing above the valve body.

2 - Transmission output speed sensor
Installed location: The Tiptronic switch is integrated in the selector mechanism.
If the vehicle has a multifunction steering wheel, check the buttons on the steering wheel and the corresponding wire connections.
Installed location: The data link connector -arrow- is located under the driver side storage compartment on the left side.
Installed location: Inside the instrument cluster.
