Engine Start - Stop System Switch Stuck

On vehicles with keyless entry, the button for engine start-stop switch -E378- is stuck.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

Deviation in switch dimensions along with molding flash on the storage box incorrect or incorrect cable routing.

New parts stock supplied CW16/2011.

SERVICE

Align position of wiring and replace start-stop switch.

Remove the storage box / ashtray. See Repair Manual Group 96 Interior Lights, Switches.
Check the cable routing.
The wiring loom must not be trapped (Fig. 1) between center console and storage box.

Check wiring loom, loom must not be twisted.
Remove the switch for the starting system -E378-. See Repair Manual Group 96 Interior Lights, Switches.
Check the storage box for molding flash (Fig. 2, red arrows). Carefully remove any molding flash.

Replace the start-stop switch for keyless entry system (5C7.959.839.A) and install the storage box. See Repair Manual Group 96 Interior Lights, Switches.
