2010 Jetta sedan, 2010-2011 Jetta Sportwagen - J519 Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (BCM) Replacement
When replacing a J519 vehicle electrical system control module (BCM), part number 5K0 937 085 (regardless of suffix or color code), with part number 5K0 937 087 (regardless of suffix or color code), the coding of the module may need to be changed.
Faults 00984 and 00985 may be stored static in the replacement control module. To recode the module, change BCM hex byte 18 from 00 to 06 for sedan or 09 for Sportwagen. All other hex bytes from the original BCM coding should remain unchanged. Remember that hex byte count starts with 0, so byte 18 is actually the 19th byte listed.
