Selector Lever Cable, Checking

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
WARNING:

Move the selector lever into "P" and set the parking brake before working with the engine running.

Short description 

The selector lever cable must be disconnected from the transmission in order to check it for ease of movement. Do not let the removed end touch anything.

Then selector lever is moved and the selector lever cable installed again on the transmission.

After that, selector lever cable must be adjusted, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .

Do not lubricate the cable connections.

Checking 

-- Move the selector lever into P.

-- Remove the selector lever cable from the lever on the transmission.

-- Move the selector lever from P to S and back to P several times.

-- Install the selector lever cable with new lock washers and the adjusting screw loosened.

-- Adjust the selector lever cable, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
