Short Description

The selector lever cable must be disconnected from the transmission in order to check it for ease of movement. Lay the removed end down so that it does not touch anything.

Then selector lever is moved and installed again on the transmission.

After that, selector lever cable must be adjusted.

Do not lubricate the cable connections.

Selector Lever Cable must Always be Adjusted if:

Checking

-- Move the selector lever into "P".

-- Remove the complete air filter housing:

-- Remove cable from lever on transmission.

-- Move the selector lever from "P" through "S" and back to "P" several times.

-- Adjust the selector lever cable.

Adjusting

The transmission is also in "P" if the vehicle does not move with wheels spinning freely.
