ATF Level, Checking: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Torque Wrench 5-50 Nm VAG 1331
- Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit SMN 372500
- Vehicle Diagnosis Tester
- Shop Crane - Drip Tray VAS 6208
- Oil Filler VAS 6262 A
- Oil Filler - Adapter 2 VAS 6262/2
- Also on some fluid containers Oil Filler - Adapter 6 VAS 6262/6
Note the following information:
- Regarding the repair information. Refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .
- Regarding the ATF, refer to GENERAL INFORMATION => Automatic Transmission Fluid
- Oil Filler - Adapter 6 VAS 6262/6 must also be used on some fluid container.
- It may be necessary to shorten the bleed pipe on the Oil Filler VAS 6262 A as shown below.
Shorten the bleed pipe on the Oil Filler VAS 6262 A as follows:
-- Shorten the pipe to dimension -a-. This assures the pipe on the Oil Filler VAS 6262 A will not touch the bottom on some oil containers.
- Dimension -a- = 210 mm
NOTE:
Dimension -a- is measured starting from the shaft (the green surface) on the Oil Filler VAS 6262 A.
-- Shorten the bleed pipe with Brake Line Tool Kit - Pipe Cutter VAS 6056/2.
If ATF is filled, only use ATF available as a replacement part.
-- Always replace the seal -arrow- for the ATF check plug when checking the ATF level.
