Checking Component and wiring
-- Disconnect the MAP / IAT sensor -G71 / G42- electrical harness connector.
-- Turn the ignition switch ON
-- Using a multimeter, connect the positive lead to the MAP / IAT sensor -G71 / G42- harness connector terminal 2 and the negative lead to an engine ground.
Specified Value: 4.30 V To 4.90 V
-- Turn the ignition switch OFF
If The Specified Value Was Not Obtained:
-- Check the wiring for an open, high resistance or short to ground. Refer to Appropriate System Diagrams for pin locations.
-- Check the electrical harness connector for damage, corrosion, loose or broken terminals.
-- If necessary, repair the faulty wiring or connection.
If Voltage Was Not Present And No Malfunction Is Detected In The Signal Circuit:
-- Replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) -J623-.
If The Specified Value Was Obtained:
-- Using a multimeter, connect the positive lead to Battery + and the negative lead to the MAP / IAT sensor -G71 / G42- harness connector terminal 1.
Specified value: Battery voltage.
If The Specified Value Was Not Obtained:
-- Check the ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Appropriate System Diagrams for circuit locations.
-- Check the electrical harness connector for damage, corrosion, loose or broken terminals.
-- If necessary, repair the faulty wire or connection.
If The Specified Value Was Obtained:
-- Replace the MAP / IAT sensor -G71 / G42-.
