Metal Glow Plugs

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Hinged Socket 3220
• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) V.A.G 1331

Removing 

-- Turn off the ignition.

-- Disconnect the connectors from the glow plugs.

-- Remove assemblies that are in the way, such as the upper and lower intake manifolds, before removal.

-- Loosen the glow plugs using the hinged Socket 3220.

Installing 

Installation is performed in the reverse of removal, noting the following:

-- Install the glow plugs in the cylinder head by hand using the hinged Socket 3220.

-- Tighten the glow plugs to 15 Nm.
