TIPTRONIC Switch Signal Magnet: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Volkswagen Touareg, 2006 Volkswagen Touareg, 2005 Volkswagen Touareg, and 2004 Volkswagen Touareg. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Two signal magnets -A and B- are installed in the cover strip -1-. These magnets transfer the selector lever position signals to the circuit board above.

CAUTION:

When installing, the magnet -A- may stick to metallic objects (tools, for example). If it does, it must be reinserted in the correct position.

A magnet that is installed incorrectly or is missing leads to shift mechanism malfunctions.

-- When installing a new cover strip, check to make sure the magnet -A- is present and is installed correctly. Refer to TIPTRONIC SWITCH SIGNAL MAGNET .

Replace the cover strip if the magnet is lost.
