Ignition Component Overview
NOTE:
The engine speed (RPM) sensor -G28- is on the cylinder block, see -item 23- under CYLINDER BLOCK, VIBRATION DAMPER AND LUBRICATION COMPONENTS .
- Ignition Coil with Power Output Stage -N70, N127, N291, N292, N323, N324-
- Remove and install using the puller for ignition coil T10095 A.
- Connector
- Black
- Use the assembly tool T10118 to pull off.
- Bracket
- For the harness connector for the KS 1.
- Bolt
- 20 Nm
- Connector
- Black, 3 pin
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Knock Sensor (KS) 1 -G61-
- Installed location: exhaust side of the cylinder block.
- Bolt
- 20 Nm
- Tightening specification affect the function of the KS.
- Exhaust Camshaft Adjuster
- Identification: 32A
- With sensor wheel for the CMP sensor 2.
- Camshaft adjustor with timing chain, installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER WITH TIMING CHAIN, INSTALLING .
- Timing Chain Cover
- Connector
- Black, 3 pin
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Bolt
- 10 Nm
- Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 2 -G163-
- For the exhaust camshaft.
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Seal
- Replace
- Camshaft Position CMP) Sensor -G40-
- For the intake camshaft.
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Knock Sensor (KS) 2 -G66-
- Installed location: intake side of the cylinder block.
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Connector
- Black, 2 pin
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Intake Camshaft Adjuster
- Identification: 24E
- With sensor wheel for the CMP sensor.
- Camshaft adjustor with timing chain, installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER WITH TIMING CHAIN, INSTALLING .
- Spark Plug
- 18 Nm
- If the spark plug is replaced, grease the ignition coil with power output stage. Refer to IGNITION COILS WITH POWER OUTPUT STAGES .
- Remove and install using spark plug removal tool 3122B.
- Type and electrode gap, refer to TEST DATA AND SPARK PLUGS .
- Control Housing
- For the camshaft adjustment.
- Removing and installing, refer to CAMSHAFTS .
