Spark Plug: Removing
-- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY .
-- Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
NOTE:
Prior to removing the ignition coil, use compressed air to blow around the ignition coil top in order to make sure no debris drops into the spark plug tube.
-- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the ignition coil.
NOTE:
Remove the ignition coil (3) by rotating the coil 1/2 turn and pulling straight up in a steady motion.
-- Remove the ignition coil bolt (2) and ignition coil (3).
NOTE:
Prior to removing the spark plug, use compressed air to blow out any debris that might be in the spark plug tube.
-- Remove the spark plug using a quality socket with a foam insert.
