2009 Jetta, Jetta Sportswagen, GTI, EOS, Rabbit - ESP Functionality Changes
For vehicles with the new Mark 60E ABS System, please note the following functional changes to the Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP):
- The ESP system is ALWAYS "ON". Pressing the ESP button disables ONLY the Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) traction control feature.
- When the ASR feature is turned off, the instrument cluster indicator light will flash slowly.
- If there is an ESP or ABS malfunction, the indicator light will come on steady.
The ESP sensors are also incorporated into the ABS module on this system. Be sure to verify the system is the Mark 60E before replacing any components.
