Plenum Chamber Bulkhead

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Torque Wrench V.A.G 1783
• Torque Wrench V.A.G 1331

Removal

-- Remove insulation mat -1- from the plenum chamber bulkhead by removing both securing clips -arrows-.

The following illustration depicts the wiper motor wiring harness when viewed from the front windshield and with the hood opened.

1. Plenum chamber bulkhead 
2. Wiper motor wiring harness 
3. Front window 
4. Wiper motor 

-- Unclip wiper motor wiring harness -2- from the mounts -arrows-.

-- Remove mounting bolt -1- and nut -2- of plenum chamber bulkhead -3-.

-- Remove plenum chamber bulkhead -3- upward and out of vehicle.

Installation 

-- Carefully slide plenum chamber bulkhead -1- between the guide tabs -arrows- and the plenum chamber.

Make sure the wiper motor wiring harness is not pinched.

-- Tighten threaded connections -1 and 2- of the plenum chamber bulkhead to 8 Nm.

-- Make sure the wiper motor wiring harness -2- is routed correctly.

-- Secure wiper motor wiring harness -2- with the securing tabs -arrows-.
