Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Selector lever cable must always be adjusted if,

Adjusting 

-- Shift the selector lever to the "P" position.

Shift lever on transmission into the "P" position.

-- Press the lever on the transmission back -arrow- to bring the transmission into the "P" position.

-- Install the cable with a loosened adjustment bolt -arrow- and new lock washers -A and B-.

NOTE:

Raise the vehicle to ensure that the transmission is in the "P" position (parking lock is engaged). Both front wheels must not be able to be turned together in one direction.

The transmission is also in the "P" position if the vehicle does not move with wheels spinning freely.

-- Lightly tap the button on the selector lever knob forward and backward and make sure to keep the knob in the park position.

Thus, the optimal position of the inner cable is found.

-- Tighten the adjustment bolt -arrow- to 13 Nm.
