Diagnostic Mode 01 - Read Current System Data

Diagnostic Mode 01 makes it possible to access current emissions-related measured values and diagnostic data. The original measured values (no replacement values), input and output data and system status information are displayed using Diagnostic Mode 1.

Test requirement 

Procedure 

-- Connect the scan tool.

-- Start the engine and run at idle.

-- Select "Diagnostic Mode 01 - Obtain Data".

-- From the following table, select the desired the "PID" that is to be monitored, e.g. "PID 05-Coolant temperature".

NOTE:

More than one "PID" may be selected and monitored.

The current values of the component or system that is being monitored will be displayed on the scan tool screen.

PID Description
01: Number of malfunctions in Mode 3/MIL status/Readiness status
03: Condition of system 1 (Bank 1), (Bank 2)
04: Calculated load value
05: Coolant temperature
06: Oxygen sensor integrator (Bank 1)
07: Oxygen sensor adaptation value (Bank 1)
08: Oxygen sensor integrator (Bank 2)
09: Oxygen sensor adaptation value (Bank 2)
12: Engine speed
13: Vehicle speed
14: Ignition angle cylinder 1
15: Intake air temperature
16: Air mass
17: Absolute throttle valve position 1
PID $ 12 Secondary air injection (only systems with secondary air injection)
19: Location of oxygen sensor monitoring (constant oxygen sensors)
21: Oxygen sensor LSF sensor voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
PID $19 (25) Oxygen sensor LSF sensor voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
28: OBD requirements (only master ECM)
31: Time since engine start (must NOT be reset after erasing DTC memory with engine running)
33: Driven distance after MIL on
35: Fuel pressure (rail pressure k)
46: Tank ventilation valve activation
48: No. of WUCs after erasing DTC memory
49: Distance driven after erasing DTC memory
51: Ambient pressure
52: Oxygen sensor actual value (Bank 1 - Sensor 1) Oxygen sensor monitoring pump current (Bank 1 - Sensor 1)
56: Oxygen sensor actual value (Bank 2 - Sensor 1) Oxygen sensor monitoring pump current (Bank 2 - Sensor 1)
60: Catalytic converter temp. (Bank 1 - Sensor 1)
61: Catalytic converter temp. (Bank 2 - Sensor 1)
64: supported definition PIDs $41 through $60
