CONDITION

57 10 03  April 1, 2010 2013577  Supersedes T. B. Group 57 number 07-09 dated Sept. 11, 2007 due to updated warranty table labor operations.

After a low voltage condition or a brief battery cable disconnect functions of door control module may become inoperative. These functions include, but are not limited to:

NOTE: DO NOT replace the door control module to correct these conditions.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

Condition occurs when door control module(s) enter an undefined state, which it does not always recover from. Entering this state can be caused by a voltage supply concern in the vehicle either during transportation or extended periods of time without vehicle operation.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Software level 12xx introduced start of production MY 2008.

SERVICE

Tip:  Use the generate test code and print function of MCR340V, VAS 6161 and/or INC-940 to obtain appropriate Midtronics test code which is required for warranty claims. If battery requires replacing, see Repair Manual Group 27 Starter - current supply, in ElsaWeb. Failure to provide the proper Midtronics test code may result in a denied claim.

When encountering this concern it is necessary to reset the door control modules. This is performed by disconnecting the battery for a period of no less than 1 hour  . Once the reset door control modules procedure is performed, it is necessary to perform a restoring electrical power procedure, and clear DTC'S, see Repair Manual Group 27, Battery Reconnecting in ElsaWeb.

Tip:  Remember to reset basic settings of motors in order to reactivate the auto up or down.

WINDOW TRAVEL BASIC SETTINGS

Tip:  Door MUST be closed before performing Basic Settings procedure.

  • Close door.
  • Start vehicle.
  • Run window travel down to lowest point.
  • Raise window approximately 1/3 travel and restrict glass upward travel until pinch protection activates.
  • Raise window to full travel and hold switch in upward position for 5 seconds after full up window travel is obtained.
  • Release window switch and open door.

Basic Settings is now complete.
