Main Fuse Box

Main fuse box is located at rear right of luggage compartment under tool kit and wagon jack formed insert.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

CAUTION!
• Observe safety precautions when working on battery isolation system. Refer to=> [ Battery Interrupt Igniter, Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.

• Observe notes for disposal of battery isolator units. Refer to=> [ Battery Interrupt Igniter Disposal ] Battery Interrupt Igniter Disposal.

Removing

- Remove Battery Interrupt Igniter. Refer to => [ Battery Interrupt Igniter ] Service and Repair.

- Remove nuts - 1 -, - 2 - and - 3 - and remove wires from connector threads.





- Pull harness connector - 4 - out of its secured position in main fuse box.

- Pull release lever - 2 - outward in direction of arrow and disconnect connector - 1 -.





- Remove both nuts - arrows - and remove main fuse box - 1 - from vehicle.





Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Tighten all threaded connections to specified torque.
