Navigation System, Adapting After Reinstalling

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit, 2009 Volkswagen GTI, 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit, 2008 Volkswagen R32, and 2008 Volkswagen GTI. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

If the radio navigation system was reinstalled, system must be calibrated and adjusted to the vehicle.

-- During normal radio navigation system operation, press MEN  button twice, the unit then switches to setup menu.

-- Select "INSTALLATION" in setup menu.

-- Select menu item "calibration".

-- Select menu item "REINSTALL".

-- Press right rotary/push knob.

You are now guided through the installation on the display.

Follow the unit instructions. First, the unit performs a system test.

-- Perform the operating steps requested by the system and press the right rotary/push knob.

After the system test, the system performs the actual calibration. For this, you must drive an 8-15 km stretch with good GPS reception.

Before beginning the procedure, you will be required confirm the deletion of any calibration values present.

NOTE:

During the first 25% of the calibration process, route guidance is not possible due to the selection of "REINSTALL".

The stretch to be driven depends on various factors such as the GPS reception quality and route maneuvering. The mileage indication merely shows an average value. It may be decidedly shorter or longer under poor conditions.
