Multimedia Display Unit

Removing 

Before starting repair work, perform the following:

-- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

-- Fold monitor out of roof console.

-- Guide hook VAS 3370 between monitor and cover in roof console and move it downward in -direction of arrow- until it contacts plastic monitor pins.

-- Carefully pull monitor in -direction of arrow A- with hook VAS 3370 until plastic pins disengage.

Monitor with plastic pins disengaged looks like this -arrow- :

-- Repeat procedure for plastic pins on other side of monitor.

-- Position monitor diagonally so guide pins -arrows- can be guided out of tracks.

-- Pull monitor out as far as wiring connection allows. Now you can see the connector behind the monitor -arrow-.

-- Press on connector locking mechanism -arrow- and remove.

Installing 

-- Guide monitor into mount in roof console.

-- Position monitor diagonally so that guide pins -arrows- can be guided into tracks in monitor mount.

-- Slide monitor into tracks to upper stop.

-- Connect connectors.

-- Secure wiring harness on monitor as shown in illustration -arrows- and clip connector -A- into mount on monitor -arrow-.

-- Bring monitor into position so that lower plastic pins -arrow- at left and right of monitor rest in front of catches in cover.

-- Now press evenly on both sides of monitor -arrows- until plastic pins engage audibly in catches.

NOTE:

Do not press on display because it can be damaged!

-- Make sure the monitor opens and closes easily.

-- Finally, check multimedia system for functionality.
