Esp Sensor Unit

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit, 2009 Volkswagen GTI, 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit, 2008 Volkswagen R32, and 2008 Volkswagen GTI. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The transverse acceleration sensor -G200-, rotation rate sensor -G202- and longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251- are installed in a housing under the right front seat.

After replacing ESP sensor unit -G419-, a transverse acceleration sensor -G200- basic setting must be performed.

WARNING:

Strong vibrations (for example falls, impacts) can destroy the ESP sensor unit AND must then no longer be used.

Removing 

-- Remove the right front seat with the seat frame. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Remove sill panel trim. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Lift carpet and lay it aside.

-- Remove connector station -1-.

-- Raise floor covering.

-- Disconnect connector -1- from ESP sensor unit -G419-.

-- Remove the two nuts -arrows-.

-- Remove ESP sensor unit.

Installing 

-- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

When installing ESP sensor unit, be sure it is properly seated on the bracket and is free of tension.

NOTE:

Do not use the securing nuts to forcibly position the ESP sensor unit.

-- Tighten the nuts to 9 Nm.

-- Perform transverse acceleration sensor -G200- basic setting.
