Work sequence

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2005 Volkswagen GTI, 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, 2004 Volkswagen GTI, 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, and 2003 Volkswagen GTI. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

NOTE:
  • Mark connector and component before disconnecting.

1 - vacuum hose to Throttle valve control module - J338  - ,

2 - fuel return hose (with blue markings),

3 - fuel supply hose (with white markings).

NOTE:
  • Press buttons on hose couplings to disconnect.
CAUTION: Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
NOTE:
  • Seal the intake ports in the intake manifold or in the cylinder head with a clean cloth.

Models with an automatic transmission 

Continuation for all vehicles 

NOTE:
  • Mark connector and component before disconnecting.

Installation locations: → 24 MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION (MFI)

  • Use ladder VAS 5085 to remove securing bolts.

  • Use Ladder VAS 5085 to remove securing bolts.
NOTE:
  • Engine with transmission must be guided carefully, when lowering, to prevent damage to bodywork.
