Selector Mechanism Overview, Through 02.2009
WARNING:
Shift the selector lever into the "P" position and engage the parking brake before working with the engine running.
- Shift Handle with Cover
- Do not remove the knob if not necessary. For emergency release, only the cover must be removed. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER MANUAL RELEASE .
- Pull the button past its pressure point before removing the handle. Secure it with a tie strap or wire. This prevents the button from being pushed back into the knob accidentally.
- Selector Lever and Mechanism
- With the shift lock solenoid -N110-.
- Emergency release, refer to SELECTOR LEVER MANUAL RELEASE .
- Short description for removal and installation:
-- Remove the enter console.
-- Remove the cable from the transmission and from the selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, THROUGH 02.2009 .
-- If necessary: disconnect or remove components from the exhaust system. Refer to [For engine(s) BUB] Description and Operation or [For engine(s) BPY] Description and Operation or [For engine(s) CCTA, CBFA] Description and Operation .
-- Remove the heat shield beneath the vehicle.
-- Adjust the selector lever cable after installing. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTING, THROUGH 02.2009 .
- Bolt with Spring
- 3 Nm
- Pin
- Removing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, THROUGH 02.2009 .
- Do not grease
- Securing Plate
- Always replace after removal.
- Nut
- 9 Nm
- Quantity: 4
- Shift Housing
- With seal
- Retaining Washer
- Always replace after removal.
- Retaining Washer
- Always replace after removal.
- Selector Lever Cable
- Do not grease the cable.
- Removing and installing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, THROUGH 02.2009 .
- Checking, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE CHECKING, THROUGH 02.2009 .
- Adjusting, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTING, THROUGH 02.2009 .
- Bolt with Washer
- 8 Nm
