Emissions Control Module: Removing

-- Remove the subframe, refer to SUBFRAME OVERVIEW . .

-- Remove the front exhaust pipe, refer to FRONT EXHAUST PIPE .

-- Drain the coolant, refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the left coolant pipes, refer to LEFT COOLANT PIPES .

-- Remove the rear coolant pipe, refer to REAR COOLANT PIPE .

-- Remove the exhaust gas recirculation, refer to EGR COOLER .

-- Disconnect and remove the connector for the coolant reservoir -2-.

-- Unclip the wiring harness from the coolant reservoir.

-- Remove the bolts -3- and the coolant reservoir -2-.

-- Unclip the lines -1- and free up.

-- Lay the coolant reservoir -2- on the engine.

-- Remove the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 2 -G448-, Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 -G495- and Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 -G648-, refer to EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR .

-- Remove the Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10-, refer to Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Differential Pressure Sensor -G505- and lay on the engine with the lines still attached, refer to Differential Pressure Sensor -G505-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 -G450- and lay on the engine with the lines still attached, refer to Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 -G450-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -3-.

-- Loosen the clamps -1- and remove the hoses.

-- Unclip the pipes -2- and remove with the differential pressure sensors.

-- Release and disconnect the Reducing Agent Injector -N474- connector from the bulkhead.

-- Free up the wires.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -1-.

-- Free up the coolant line -3- and the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) lines -2-.

-- Remove the Reducing Agent Injector -N474- and lay it to the right side.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.

NOTE:

The feet of the Assembly Aid T10511 are supported by the bolts for the cylinder head.

-- Install the Counterhold - Electric DriveT10511 as shown.

-- Engage the retaining bracket -arrow- in the emissions control module strap.

-- Open the clamp -1- and position on the emissions control module entrance funnel.

-- Remove the rest of the bolts in the order -4 to 2-.

-- Push the engine forward from below with the help of a second technician underneath.

-- Pivot the lower emissions control module away from the engine and push upward.

-- Pull the brackets from the emissions control module mounting strap and remove the emissions control module downward.
