Start/Stop System Safety Precautions

Pay attention to the following when working on a vehicle with the Start-Stop system:

WARNING:

There is a risk of injury due to the engine starting automatically in vehicles with the Start-Stop system.

  • The engine can start automatically for vehicles while the start/stop system is activated.
  • This is recognized by a message in the instrument cluster.
  • Therefore, make sure that the Start/Stop System is disabled when working on the vehicle (turn off ignition, if needed, turn the ignition back on).
