Ignition System Components Overview
NOTE:
The engine speed sensor -G28- is on the cylinder block.
- Ignition Coil 1 with Power Output Stage -N70-
- Ignition coil 2 with power output stage -N127-
- Ignition coil 3 with power output stage -N291-
- Ignition coil 4 with power output stage -N292-
- Ignition coil 5 with power output stage -N323-
- Ignition coil 6 with power output stage -N324-
- Use the puller for ignition coil -T10095 A- for removal. Refer to IGNITION COILS WITH POWER OUTPUT STAGES .

- Bracket
- For the knock sensor 1 connector.
- Bolt
- 10 Nm
- Connector
- Black, 3 pin
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Knock Sensor 1 -G61-
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Installed location: Exhaust side of the cylinder block.
- Bolt
- 20 Nm
- Tightening specification affects the function of the knock sensor.
- Exhaust Camshaft Adjuster
- With the sensor wheel for the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor 2.
- If the camshaft adjuster has been removed, adjust the valve timing. Refer to CAMSHAFT AND OIL PUMP TIMING CHAINS .
- Cover
- Removing and installing, refer to COVER OVERVIEW .
- Seal
- Always replace.
- Camshaft Position Sensor 2 -G163-
- For the exhaust camshaft.
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Bolt
- 10 Nm
- Connector
- Black, 3 pin
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Mark the connector before disconnecting.
- Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-
- For the intake camshaft.
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Knock Sensor 2 -G66-
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Installed location: Intake side of the cylinder block.
- Connector
- Black, 2 pin
- Sensor contacts and connector contacts are gold plated.
- Intake Camshaft Adjuster
- With the sensor wheel for the CMP sensor.
- If the camshaft adjuster has been removed, adjust the valve timing. Refer to CAMSHAFT AND OIL PUMP TIMING CHAINS .
- Spark Plug
- If the spark plug is replaced, grease the ignition coil with power output stage. Refer to IGNITION COILS WITH POWER OUTPUT STAGES .
- Remove and install using the spark plug removal tool -3122 B-.
- Type, torque specification and electrode gap. Refer to TEST DATA AND SPARK PLUGS .
- Control Housing
- For the camshaft adjustment.
- Removing and installing, refer to CAMSHAFTS .
