Front Passenger Door Control Module (J387) Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051A)

• The following system/component checks depend on vehicle equipment level and market version.

The following components and functions can be checked via output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) of door control module:

• Activation of front passenger's side switch illumination

• Activation of front passenger's side central locking system (activating)

• Activation of front passenger's side mirror functions (mirror heater and mirror fold-in function)

• Activation of the turn signal in the front passenger mirror ( Front passenger exterior rearview mirror turn signal bulb (L132) )

• Activation of front passenger's side ambient light ( Front passenger entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror (W53) )

• Activation of front passenger's side window regulator (driving down)

• Activation of front passenger's side window regulator (driving up)

- Connect (VAS 5051A).

- In (VAS 5051A) , select operating mode "Guided Fault Finding".

- Using the "Go To" button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:

• Body

• Body repair procedures

• 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems

• Front passenger door electronics

• Front passenger door control module functions

• Front Passenger Door Control Module - output diagnostic test mode
