Selector Lever Cable, Checking

Short Description: 

Check the cable for ease of movement. The selector lever cable must be disconnected from the transmission in order to check it for ease of movement. Do not let the removed end touch anything.

Then the selector lever is moved and finally the cable is reinstalled at transmission.

After that, the selector lever cable must be adjusted. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .

Do not lubricate the cable connections.

Checking 

-- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

-- Remove the cable from lever on the transmission.

-- Move the selector lever from "P" to "S" and back to "P" several times.

-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
