Selector Lever Cable, Checking

Short Description: 

To check the selector lever cable for ease of movement, remove it from the transmission and position the removed end so it does not make contact anywhere.

The selector lever moves and the cable will be attached again.

After that, the selector lever cable must be adjusted. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .

Do not grease the cable connection.

-- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

-- Pry the cable -1- off the selector shaft lever -3- using a open end wrench -2-.

-- Press the catches -arrows- and remove the cable from the cable bracket.

-- Move the selector lever from "P" to "S" and back to "P" several times.

• The selector lever must move easily.

-- Attach the cable.

-- Adjust the cable.
