SERVICE INFORMATION

2004> Vehicles with BEW or BRM Diesel Engine - G500 Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor Testing 

To test the G500, start with key on and engine off. Disconnect the vacuum line to the sensor and check MVB 43 in Engine Electronics. Reading should be 0% +/- 30 with 0 inches of vacuum on sensor. Using a vacuum pump, apply 18 inches of vacuum to the sensor and check the value block again. Reading should be 100% +/- 10. If reading is out of range check wiring and/or replace the sensor. Can lead to a rough idle.
