SERVICE INFORMATION

2006 Jetta A5, Airbag Module Coding after Replacement

After replacing the airbag control module in a 2006 Jetta, the new control module cannot be coded and the fault code "incorrect module" is stored in 15-Airbag. Model year 2006 Jetta have dual stage airbag igniters. Model year 2007 Jetta have only single stage airbag igniters. ETKA was incorrectly superseding all MY 2006 airbag control module part numbers to the MY 2007 single stage module part number. The module is then mismatched with the components in the system which causes the fault code. ETKA has been corrected with the newest update. A correct airbag control module should be ordered using ETKA.
