2005-2009 Jetta / Passat / Eos / GTI / Rabbit / Tiguan - Auto-Lock Function Guidelines
If a customer complains the vehicle is relocking after the trunk is closed, compare the customer's conditions to the following:
- Customer exits the vehicle leaving the vehicle in a locked state - All doors are closed and locked.
- No door switch or key fob unlocking is performed.
- From outside of the vehicle, the trunk is opened using the key fob.
- After closing the trunk, the anti-theft alarm system is armed.
The above is considered normal operation of the vehicle. However, for customer satisfaction, the comfort module can be customized. Refer to the following:
JETTA
Go in to Guided Functions. Select 46 Central Module Comfort System . Select Adaption . Perform adaption on channel 5 to turn "on" Auto Unlocking when Removing Key from Ignition Lock . This will allow the driver door to be unlocked when the key is removed from the ignition lock cylinder. If the customer wants all doors to unlock, then this can be performed with adaption channel 3.
PASSAT / GTI / EOS / RABBIT / TIGUAN
Go in to Guided Functions. Select Convenience System . Run function test Adapting Automatic Unlock when Removing Ignition Key . This will allow the driver side door to be unlocked when the key is removed. If the customer would like all 4 doors unlocked when the key is removed, run the function test Adapting single door unlock .
