Locking Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing: Notes

Installation position of locking cable

1 - Footwell vent
2- Instrument panel support
3 - Heater

First check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain anti-theft code.
Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap. Refer to 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL .
Remove driver side airbag unit and steering wheel. Refer to 69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS .
Remove left trim beneath dash panel. Refer to 68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT .

Remove steering column trim. Refer to 70 - INTERIOR TRIM .
Remove handle for adjusting reach and height of steering column.
Turn ignition key to ignition on position.
Move selector lever to "P" position.
