The following components are not depicted in the component locations overview: 

Throttle Position (TP) Sensor -G79- and Sender -2- for accelerator pedal position -G185-* 

• In footwell, at accelerator pedal
• Checking. Refer to Throttle Position (TP) sensor, checking

1 - EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve 

• Checking. Refer to EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve, checking (vehicles with engine code ALH) 

2 - Change-over valve for intake manifold flap -N239- 

• Checking. Refer to Change-over valve for intake manifold flap, checking 

3 - Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Heating Element -N79- 

• Check voltage supply for PCV heating element between terminals 1 and 2 of connector with ignition switched on

Specified value:

at least 11.5 V

4 - Diesel Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) Engine Control Module (ECM) -J248-* 

• Checking voltage supply. Refer to Voltage supply for Diesel-Direct Fuel Injection System, checking 
• Replace. Refer to Control module for Diesel-Direct Fuel Injection System, replacing 
• Checking Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor -F96-*. Refer to Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor, checking  , checking Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor

5 - Connector 

• Disengage to pull off
• Switch ignition off before disconnecting or connecting connector

6 - EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve -N18-* 

• Checking. Refer to EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve, checking 

7 - Fuel injector 

• Removing and installing. Refer to Injectors, removing and installing 
• Checking. Refer to Injectors, checking 
• For cylinder 3 with needle lift sensor
• Check Needle Lift Sensor -G80-*. Refer to Needle lift sensor, checking 

8 - Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75-* 

• Checking. Refer to Wastegate bypass regulator valve, checking 

9 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor -G70-* 

• Checking. Refer to Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, checking 

10 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor -G62-* 

• For control module for Diesel-Direct Fuel Injection System
• With Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor -G2-
• If necessary, release pressure in cooling system before removing
• Checking. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, checking 

11 - Vacuum reservoir 

12 - 10 Nm 

13 - Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor -G28-* 

• Checking. Refer to Sender for fuel gauge, checking 

14 - O-ring 

• Always replace

15 - 2-pin harness connector 

• Brown

• With Fuel Temperature Sensor -G81-*,checking. Refer to Fuel Temperature Sensor, checking
