- With engine at idle, connect Scan Tool (ST) V.A.G 1551 / V.A.G 1552 and select Engine Control Module (ECM) J248 with "Address word" 01. → Scan Tool V.A.G 1551 , connecting , V.A.G 1551 Scan Tool, connecting.
Indicated on display:

- Press buttons - 0 - and - 8 - for "Read measuring value block" and confirm with - Q - button.
Indicated on display:

- Press buttons - 0 - , - 1 - and - 7 - for "Display group number 17" and confirm with - Q - button.

If specification is obtained:
- Press → button.
