DTC recognition and display:

The steering column electronic systems control module is equipped with on-board diagnostics, which simplifies fault-finding.

To diagnose, use the "Guided Fault Finding" function of the vehicle testing, measurement, and information system VAS 5051.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
• Diagnostic cable VAS 5051/6A

Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 , connecting → Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information Systems 

• Select operating mode "Guided Fault Finding" on Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.
• Using the "Go To" button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:

• Body
• Body repair procedures
• 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems
• Steering wheel electronics
