DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 00317 05 IS STORED IN CONVENIENCE CONTROL MODULE DTC MEMORY

SUBJECT

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 00317 05 Is Stored In Convenience Control Module DTC Memory

CONDITION

DTC 00317 05 "J605 Incorrect Adaptation, wrong or missing basic setting" is stored in the Convenience control module memory. This DTC affects adaptation of the servo trunk lid.

Due to a Guided Fault Finding (GFF) software issue, Comfort control modules do not communicate during GFF Vehicle system Test.

SERVICE

Until software issue is resolved (with new Basis-CD V6.20) diagnose Comfort control modules, using Self Diagnosis to check DTC memory of this system. Proceed as follows:

• Connect VAS 5051/5052 Diagnostic tool.
• Switch ignition ON.
• From Start-up screen, select "Vehicle Self-Diagnosis".
• Select vehicle system "46-Convenience system central module".

  NOTE: Use scroll bar on right to display appropriate system.
• From module identification screen, select forward arrow > on navigation bar.
• Select function "02 - Interrogate fault memory".

• Check and print any stored DTC(s).

If DTC 00317 is present:

• Press back arrow < on navigation bar.
• Open trunk lid so there is a gap of approximately 10 inches.
• Select function "10 - Adaption".
• Input "24" for channel "24" on keypad.

• Press "Q" on keypad to confirm.
  • Channel 24 value should be "0".
• Select "Keyboard" to change channel 24 value if necessary.
• Select "Save" to adapt servo trunk lid.

• Select "Accept" to save channel 24 value.

  • Trunk lid should fully open, then completely close.
