NOTE:

From MY 2000 there are instrument clusters for vehicles with flexible service intervals and instrument clusters for vehicles with fixed service intervals. Note the part number!

Warning at Insufficient Oil Level

Vehicles with LongLife service are equipped with an instrument panel insert that alerts the driver when the engine oil level is low, by means of a signal tone and the illumination of a warning lamp.

If an oil level warning has occurred, it can only be reset by opening the hood (activating the hood switch)!

DTC Recognition and Display

The instrument cluster is equipped with On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capabilities.

For troubleshooting, use Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051B in operating mode "Guided Fault Finding".
