Visual check
Always perform a visual check of the battery before checking no load voltage, electrolyte specific gravity and load test.

Check for:
- Cracked battery case and resulting corrosion damage to surrounding area.
- Loose, damaged or corroded battery posts and terminals.


WARNING!
- Ensure that all battery post/terminal connections are securely installed and tightened according to the torque value specified.
- Intermittent contact at battery terminals may spark or cause electrical system malfunctions.
