Transmission, Repairing
This repair enables the technician to repair a transmission without having to sell the customer an exchange transmission.
All the clutches and brakes as well as the complete valve body, which are required for the repair, are available as a replacement part. All the gaskets and seals required for the repair are available as a set Electronic Parts Catalog "ETKA".
With the aid of Guided Fault Finding and the table. Refer to Selector elements, position , the faulty selector element can be determined during a test drive.
-B1 - Reverse gear and 1st gear brake
- Multi-disc brake
-B2 - 2nd, 4th and 5th gear brake
- Multi-disc brake

-B3 - 1st through 4th gear and reverse gear brake
- Band brake
-K1 - 1st through 3rd gear clutch
-K2 - Reverse gear clutch
This clutch is available as a part only together with the K3 clutch.
-K3 - 3rd through 5th gear clutch
This clutch is available as a part only together with the K2 clutch.
-K4 - 5th gear clutch
- With freewheel 2 for 1st to 4th gear.

- Removing and installing, refer to ATF cooler, removing and installing
It is important always to replace the valve body, the ATF screen and the ATF cooler together with a faulty selector element.
This will prevent the dirty ATF in these parts from reentering the transmission.
The pressure accumulator should also be cleaned. Refer to Planetary transmission, housing cover .
